Hi,

I recently got my study permit extended for an additional 4 years. After I received it, I applied for TRV. I made sure to include that I am in Canada as a student and provided confirmation of enrollment and transcript for my past semesters here in Canada. I received my passport with the new TRV yesterday and the status printed on it was that I am a "visitor". Is this the right status to be printed? I was expecting my status on the TRV to be "student" such that it matches my study permit. Also, the expiry date of the TRV does NOT match my study permit as well. Is this also fine?

Thanks.

@ahussein I believe nowadays they are issuing Temporary Resident Visas till the passport expiry date for student and work permits too. You don't have to worry, you submitted your application right. I got a TRV of a similar length when I applied for it, after I got my Post-Graduate Work Permit. My TRV exceeds my permit expiry date too. :)

No problem. @RamSatt is correct.
