Hello,

I want to apply for a visitor visa for my mother. The issue is that I have only my mother's Given name in my passport with a minor mistake.

Mother's name in my passport - Brijesh, full name in my mother's passport - Given name - Birjesh Surname - Krishna

Please suggest if there will be any problem if I apply with these name differences. I have a plan to write a 'Letter of Explanation' and make a 'Public Notary' about these name differences. Will it be enough?

I didn't understand your question properly. Here is what my experience was:
My wife doesn't have a surname in the passport. Instead her surname and given name was combined and printed in Given Name field. But we went on to apply using the existing passport name which has no surname. We left the given name field empty in the application and put the entire name in 'Family name' field. And they referred to as LNU (Last Name Unknown) in documents. We got it approved. During the process, we renewed the passport with correct name and sent the new passport for stamping with an explanation letter. Got it stamped.
I hope this clears your question.

i had your similar situation, my passport had my mom’s name as “A” and in her passport it was “AB”( with last name), we went with the name as in her passport ie AB; her bank documents etc had her full name(with last name) n her visitor visa was approved..we didn’t provide any affidavit or anything like that
