Hi
my sister (and her husband) are visiting their two sons in the US and in the meantime they applied for Canadian TRV to visit me. It has been over 50 days (applied on may 28, 2013) and have not heard yet and of July 19. Is delay a sign of impending rejection?

I would be surprised if they reject as it does not make any sense. Rejecting TRV for Parents with two sons in the US (both educated and working in the US) and the 3rd son in Nepal (also educated in the US) would be ridiculous but I have seen many cases of Canadian immigration officials lacking judgement on this issue. Any other similar stories??

Thanks

If you're a Canadian citizen or a PR holder, I'm afraid they might get a refusal :(
It's just a policy in Canada AND the US.

Hi Mohamad,

I know a couple of cases whereby people getting TRV from the US--visiting family members (with Canadian PR status) and so I don't think that is true. I usually see two reasons behind a refusal: a) insufficient funds b) no attachment to home country and hence a possibility of overstay in Canada.

Both of these don't make sense. They have two sons in the US (and are currently in the US) and so why would they overstay in Canada illegally? Though does not make sense, I know Canadian immigration officials lack judgement relative to their American counterparts.

Hi Toronto 30: They hold Nepali passports, both close to 60 or over (one retired school teacher and the other retired government joint secretary) and have been to the US previously as well.

Or is it that due to the strike (heard about this), they are prioritising the cases based on travel plans to Canada?

Thanks,

Thanks
