Hi All,

Has anyone had any luck bringing their unemployed, non-visa-exempt, spouse to Canada on a TRV?

I'm a Canadian citizen living abroad with my wife who is Thai. I want to apply for a TRV for her so we can go to Canada together for 3 weeks.

Some problems though:
1. As she is living with me abroad, she does not have a bank account. My bank will not add her as a secondary account holder because she does not have a permanent resident visa for this country yet. I believe the same applies for Canadian bank accounts?
2. She is not employed. But I make enough for the both of us at my job.
3. She currently has a PR application underway.
4. This will be our 3rd attempt applying for a TRV (2 refused based on lack of funds and VOs belief that she would not leave the country at the end of the visa)

I've prepared my letter of invite trying to address these issues. I've provided my bank statements, with an explanation that she does not have her own bank and cannot be added to mine due to visa issues abroad and in Canada. I have also stated that we do not want to compromise the PR visa by overstaying the visa.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any tips would be hugely appreciated!
