Hi Forum members,

I request all the 2013 Dependent/TRV for spouse applicants join this thread and share your timelines and experiences

Applied TRV for Spouse on Mar-15-2013 at NEW Delhi
Docs included.

1) Invitation Letter
2) Visa and Work permit Photocopy
3) Employment Letter
4) Pay stubs
5) Marriage Certificate
6) Bank statement
Hi,

I am on student visa and planning to bring my wife here

We are planning to apply Visiting visa thru one of the representatives in India. They have asked us to come up with the below listed docs

*Marriage document
*Bank Statement with 6000 CAD ( we have money in our joint account . Hope that will do )
*Land documents ( she don't have anything in her name , so has asked to submit her parents assets with a declaration that she will inhert tht in future)
*Her educational certificate
*Invitation letter from me
*Full time enrollment letter from my college

** all docs has to be verified by a lawyer and notarized too **

* said no need of itinerary as money will be wasted if visa gets rejected , instead tht amount will show in the bank account ( ie instead of 4000 cad will show 6000 cad)

My wife is currently unemployed.

Hope these docs will help .. anything more to be done ?

Kindly advice

In a cover letter to visa officer, you should clearly mention who will arrange for travel, living and other expenses.

Also, have 3 letters - invite letter from you to your spouse, cover letter from your spouse to visa officer, a request letter from you to visa officer.

All the best!

Hi eds1275,

Congrats for ur TRV.... Can you please tell what documents you submit along with ur application. My gf is currently working in India and does she need to leave her job before getting married so that I can show her as dependent while filing for her TRV?

Thanks

Thanks !

You must submit marriage certificate, many photos of your wedding (with people around), wedding invite (if you're submitting immediately after wedding), any emails that show that you've known each other from some time (many people fake marriage and bring somebody they dont know).

Submit your employment letter, playslips, bank statements, tax documents. If your gf is employed, add her documents as well.

A letter from you to visa officer, a letter from her to visa officer, an invite letter from you to your wife.

The letters should have following details - your and her contact details, date of arrival, date of departure, how expenses (living, travel etc) are taken care of, where you'd be living etc.

To show strong ties to home country - show that she's employed (let her not quit her job, instead take sabbatical leave), show that her parents and close relatives are in India, show fixed assets in her name (if any).

Basically, you need to convince visa officer that she's your spouse, you'll be able to support her financially (or both of you have $$$$) when she's in Canada and she will return to India upon approved stay is over ( you can definitely extend your work permit and her visitor record later Or apply for PR - no issues at all).

I hope this helps.

Hi eds1275, Thanks for getting back to me...
I understand marriage certificate, marriage pics and wedding cards since I am applying for her visa immediately after marriage,
My gf is employed,, but i am planning to apply for visa until my expiry date.. and thats more than 2 years... how can i show her taking leaves... and if she applies lets say for 6 months... it will be hard to believe that she will go back home once she is here until my visa expiry date....
From financial point of view.. i can definitely show my statements and all money needed....

Main question is about job and how long is she planning to apply for?

Thanks...

Are you planning to apply for TRV or work permit for her? If it is TRV, you can actually not mention about her taking leave.
