Hello Everyone,

I was having really hard time finding any information on applying for TRV for baby born outside canada. Mostly found were having suggestions that it will end up in rejection.

So went through some troubled waters with it. The first online application was refused, with reason like travel history and missing sponsorship application.

Next Time I went for Paper application.
This time, My Son's TRV got approved on 30 September, got the passport today with TRV valid till passport validity.

I got an offer and need to join the organisation on 24th October. I made a paper application, which I submitted on 20th September 2016.
I accompanied following
- Invitation letter from my cousin and me for accommodation and expenses.
- My Offer letter in Canada
- Return Tickets
- Financial proof of 20K CAD

I was bit surprised last friday as it was only 10 days and I got message that passport has been dispatched. Since my application was linked I was able to check that it was approved.
This is my second attempt, as previously my son's TRV was rejected 3 months back using online application. Only change was my job offer and return flight tickets were not attached.

So attaching the return flight tickets definitely gives you extra bonus point, anyone going for re-application must put that up. I guess job offer helps too, and maybe for the same reason my son's visa got approved within 10 days of application from Bangalore Visa office.

Feel free to pm me if anyone is in similar position, will try to help. Don't expect quick reply, will reply once I am free.

Congratulations!

Did you submit a letter of consent from your child's father allowing you to travel alone with the child?

Congratulation malay14all . 10 days.... That's great news.
My son's application will be submitted soon. We did Advanced pre-medicals. Though not keeping the return tickets, have kept the Company job letter and Bank statements and other documents.
Hope everything goes fine and my son can land on Canada soon.

Hi Malay14all,

I am planning to apply TRV for my infant son born in Dubai. Just wanted clarity on the application form.
What did you put under "Purpose of my visit" and "indicate how long you plan to stay"

I know it's too late. But better late than never huh..
Adding this to anyone who is seeking information.
So, My son got his VISA pretty quick. I submitted my application , but they asked me to resend my Generic form again, as the Barcode number in the foot of the page was not there while I printed. I re printed signed and sent the generic app form.
The application was then processed in a day from the VO, and from the agent and to my company, within one week, I had the VISA... and my son traveled with my wife to Canada soon after. They gave a Multiple Entry visa, valid till his Passport validity.

Hi all,

I too am in the same boat. I need to apply TRV for my daughter. I am in Canada and wife is in India. BOth my wife and I are PRs.

Should I apply for TRV without even applying for PR first? because i think we cannot apply for visit visa while PR application is pending. also, for IMM 5257 form for an infant, how to fill it up? as she obviously cannot sign it.

any inputs will really hel
