Hi,

My boyfriend is planning to apply for TRV and I will be writing him an invitation letter. Just an invite, he will finance his stay.

Will this affect our future spousal sponsorship application in case he will be denied? Thanks

If he gets denied it will not impact your future spousal, you guys are trying to be together and if your relationship is genuine that is normal. just make sure you declare all refusals if asked in any subsequent application.

On the other hand, getting a trv might prove difficult for someone who is a significant other because they might think you want to live together. And as you mentioned to live together there are other avenues like spousal. Chances can be lower but no harm in you applying.

Also I noticed in your other posts you were saying that your mother is a pr, are you a pr or citizen as well?

Yes both of us are permanent residents.
And btw, we also changed our minds with regards to the invitation letter. I will be the one giving him invitation letter, but i will not state that he will be staying with us since he already has hotel reservations. Is it still necessary for me to provide my bank statements even though i am not sponsoring his stay? thanks

If he is funding his whole trip he will have to show sufficient funds not you.
Again chances of rejection could be high, but no harm in applying it will not impact your spousal

But can i still send him invitation letter even though he is funding his whole trip? He's gonna show his proof of finances. I'm just providing the letter

yes of course, you can invite someone for a trip and not be responsible to pay for it.
