Hi everyone,

I greatly appreciate your help in this matter as its rather urgent for me to take action.

So I've been in canada for more than a year now and I recently received my study permit extension for my post secondary education (I am +18). However, my TRV expiry date is the same as my previous study permit (will expire by the end of this year), I do understand that I have to apply seperately for TRV but I had some issues and concerns.

First issue is my proof of funds, as an international student my main source of income is through my parents and I don't know if I am eligible to provide their financial statements and record instead of mine. In my own bank account I have far less money compared to what different forums and websites recommend (I have had around 9 thousand for 1 month and around 4500 for 3 months, in the past 4 months). I also have a considerable amount of cash that I will deposit and spend towards my second semester tuition (I have already paid my first semester tuition), If I pay my second semester tuition fees, I would end up with around 7k. I fear that if I only provide my own bank statements and record my application for extension might get rejected ( I don't really know if my guess is correct). I remember that when I was under 18 and applying for study permit I stated my parents bank statements as mine. I am really skeptical and hesitant about this, once again I would highly appreciate any information or response, thank you!

Also I receive money whenever I visit my parents, which is why I have a fluctuating amount of money in different timespans in order to pay for school or residence, this makes me capable of affording my living expenses and study fees, but not all at once, and rather bit by bit but with an absolute certainty

It should not be an issue, since you have a valid study permit they should issue you a Visitor Visa based on that so you can leave and re-enter Canada. I am not sure if the TRV would be valid longer than the SP but you would find that out once it's issued.

Just to make sure you are aware, you'll be applying for a new TRV and not a TRV extension.
