Trv extension but no passport request

I have applied Trv extension 27 Aug within Canada but not received any passport request.
Can anyone advise how long it will take

Posting under moving to Canada from the US. There is no such thing as a TRV extension. You either applied for a new TRV to leave and return to Canada or a visitor record to stay in Canada. So what did you apply for. Are you a student or worker?

Since you applied for TRV (not VR) then call IRCC and ask status.

Yes you can travel but you’ll need the TRV to reenter Canada. You can request stamping in another country.
