Yes, you can apply for trv for more than 6 months if you are a dependent of long-term trv holder in Canada (I am working in Canada for about 2 year snow).

I got a new message requesting for additional information today. So I am guessing they do work on Saturdays as well.

CIC are closed on weekends like every other goverment department. They likely timed the message to be sent at a later time so they can start looking over the additional information during the weekday.

I submitted an application June 13 as well and up until now got no update on the delay. Tried sending a case specific inquiry twice but no reply. Do you mind telling me the no.you called? Thank you

I am having valid study permit. Study permit and work permit holders can apply visa from inside Canada.

Yeah. Its 15 days processing time. But mine is delayed i don't know why.
