Hey there,
I have been in Canada for almost 9 years and have applied for my Canadian Experience class permenant residency which is still in the process. I was going to travel out of the country and needed a Valid Visa to get back in (i have an open active work permit as well).
CIC Ottawa received my Passport for a Visa and documents on the 2nd of April and it has been more than 40 days and they still have my documents. Before I could just walk into Detroit for a visa and get it within a week. Since everything moved to Ottawa it has been a horrifying experience for me. My flight was schedueld for the 16th of May which i had to cancel (pay an additional 250 dollar rescheduling fee) because Ottawa is so utterly slow and there is literally no way of communicating with them without getting a cookie cutter generic copy paste 'your application is in process' email.
I dont understand why issuing a simple Visa based on my work permits expiry date is taking so long. 40-50 days is WAY to much for a simple TRV. I got my work permit in 13 days and TRV is still in process after 44+ days.
/end rant.
