Both formats have the same processing time as per the CIC website (14 days). You might save a day or two if you apply online since you won't waste days for delays via mail.

It says 14 days on their website but me and my husband applied in last 2 months and it took them 10 days (including mailing time). We are in Toronto, and applied on paper.

Thanks for the response.
Any precautionary measures or suggestions to avoid delays or courier issues ? :)

Can anyone provide eligible list of answers......to apply for TRV application within Canada?
Thank you.

My PR application in process and I received my BOWP. My visa is expiring in Sept 2014. Could anyone send me the link for extending my visa. Should I apply for TRV or anyother visa type is applicable.

If you don't plan to travel out of the country, you do not need a TRV. If you do plan to travel: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visa.asp

-There is no provision to apply TRV(within Canada) for entire family thru online ( similar to BOWP online application process).
-Each family member should apply as separate individual.
-For family with children , paper application is the only option.

^No you can do a family application online.
For dependents 18 y.o. and above, they need to sign a form assigning you to apply on their behalf.
