TRV Application while Outland Spousal Application in Process

Hi Everyone

I have a question as I would like to know about other's experiences. I would like to know what are the chances of having TRV visa for my wife while the outland spousal application is in process; say after receiving SA letter.

I have applied for one right after our wedding and unfortunately it was refused as she basically has no ties to home country. (no employment, no school, no travel history...etc) In fact, these are the only reasons given in the letter of refusal: Travel history, purpose of visit, and family ties in Canada.

So what are the chances in my situation described above to have TRV given this time after receiving SA letter? Comments appreciated.

With a PR app in process, no home country ties and a previous TRV refusal, her chances are very low.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that the chances of an approval are very low. Especially if she was refused before and her situation hasn't changed. Sorry

Thanks for your input. It's ok as I can always take a trip back for a visit if processing time takes longer. Also, I think in case of an interview she has to go back and the date is unknown at this point. I hope our luck will serve us better in PR application and the fact that TRV refusal won't have any effect. I indicated this on the forms. The application is received by CPC September 28 and I was able to link the file to myCIC October 5. No communication yet.

You should wait a few months until the file has been sitting in visa office for about 4 to5 months. You are more likely to get a visa once a few months have passed. In India, they are giving a lot more TRV's beacaue of the backlog.. I would recommend that you apply once more when you are about to go see her. If it is accepted then you can bring her with you. You need a kickass cover letter for why you want her here. Need a special event like wedding anniversary or a marriage You want your wife to attend. Buy a return ticket as proof that she will return and reference the possibility of interview as something that will compel her to leave... some guys get accepted after 4 times of applying. It's all in the cover letter. There are a few forums here on writing a good letter, check them out, good luck....
