I just got a response from New York consulate saying that my application for a temporary resident visa 'cannot be decided until a mandatory waiting period is completed, which is expected on January 2013.' Is anyone in the same situation as me ?!
I'm a F1 student in US. I applied for multiple entries since I'd like to visit my boyfriend in Canada several times in the coming year. I provided my I-20 and bank statements along with the application. Are there any other documents I missed which caused my application is postponed?
I'm very confused. Would you please suggest what I should do now?

Nope, you are a citizen of a number of countries that an additional 10 days for security checks is required before a TRV is issued.

Thank you. I'm from China. And it seems that the mandatory waiting period is much longer than 10 days according to their response letter. I'm so confused.
