TRV application inside Canada June 2014 timeline

Hi all,
I need some insight on how cic ottawa works. I submitted my application on the 2nd of June 2014 for a new Trv. I have a valid study permit.
I checked the processing times online and they said 18 days. I friend submitted his application on May 31st 2014 and got a reply on 3rd July 2014.

Am i close to get a response? Do they process applications on saturday? And finally, i have to go back home on the 23 rd of July. If i get a positive reply from cic, let's say by the 11th of July 2014, will i be able to get my passport back in time or should i just cancelled my ticket now and try to get the money back?

Husband Online Application, Canadian Embassy in Mexico.
Applied Online: June 15th
Passport Request: June 17th
Passport Received Canadian Embassy in Mexico: June 23rd
Case Closed Visa Approved in My CIC Account: June 27th
Passport Received with visa: July 4th valid for 2 years
My and my daughter are very excited waiting for him next week

Hi,
I applied for trv online on June 20.
Got passport request on 27th June
Cic received it on 30th June
No updates after that. Still application status is open.

I canceled my ticket which was issued for 9th July...

But in my friends case:
She applied on:
June 18th.
Passport request on 26th June
Passport received back after visa stamped: 3rd july

So weired that CPC Ottawa cannot be contacted on telephone or walk in

I know. You cant contact them. Trv was rejected today cuz of family ties

OmG... So sad on that decision.so what you have to do further? In fact, you said you have a study permit. So you should at least get a a valid trv until the expiry of Ur study permit at least right!!
I was a student. Now on 3 yr open work permit. Does your case is different from mine? Just curious.
