Applied for a visit visa from Pakistan to come to Canada and visit my sisters on April 5th 2021 and got biometrics done on April 8.

No progress on the visa since then. We are processing your application, we dont need any more documents etc.

Multiple Web forms sent for updates after passing processing times and nothing more than the generic answer without any info.

Is there anyone else in the same position ? Is it worth it to withdraw and reapply - will that make it go through quicker?

Tried reaching out directly to the consulate to no avail. Extremely frustrating and just no update from ircc

You should reapply through the new portal since you applied before September 2021 and this announcement.

IRCC asked everyone to reapply in September 2021 when Covid rules changed, so reapply.
 
Yeah thats the dilemna but ive also heard people are getting visas 5-7 weeks after applying...if im stuck in a low priority que that hasnt been since april 2021 - what have i got to lose i guess.
 
Question for anyone whos gone through this or knows the process

1. I dont see the option to withdrawl when I log into my account so Im assuming I need to fill out the generic IRCC Contact form here and ask for a withdrawl? https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-...se-cas-eng.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1

2. While IRCC responds - can I submit the new visit visa application or do I have to wait till they respond?

Whenever I submitted a IRCC web form for info they usually dont even send the generic auto response for weeks.

Is it really the case that people are getting in 5-7 weeks for visit visa ? If yes did they apply for first time or they had visited canada before?

Yes. I know at least 3 people within my network all of whom got visitor visas within 30-45 days of biometrics - 2 are first time visitors and 1 was a former PR holder.
 
is any one from who applied for visitor visa in feb and are still waiting. my sister in law invited as she was expecting in april but there is still no update
