Do I need to apply for a TRP for 2 year 5 months old daughter, i read in one of the thread that for TRP candidates insurance coverage will be there. If i apply for a TRP how soon will i get?

please help

You should apply for a TRV first. If the TRV is refused, you would then apply for a TRP. I believe TRP processing can take a few months (hopefully someone else can confirm). As with the TRV, there is no guarantee the TRP will be approved. If the TRP is refused as well, then either you or your spouse will have to return to Canada and sponsor your daughter for PR from within Canada. Once her PR is approved, she will be able to come to Canada.
 
Thanks for your reply Scylla. One important information i forgot to mention is she is born in United States, so she may not require TRV but does she need TRP? Do we need to apply one for her before entering canada, is it possible? or after coming there?

In terms of medical you can buy vistor insurance. Easily from manulife or anyother insurance,company once u r in canada. But still first get trv or trp.

Oh - then no, she doesn't need a TRP. TRPs are for people who can't enter Canada. This doesn't apply to her since she's American so she won't qualify for one.

In other words, she can enter Canada using her American passport
