TRP after overstaying?

HELP!
i overstayed my tourist visa for a year...
stupid i know, but i fell in love and i guess you do stupid things sometimes
i want to re store my status, and i was wondering if anyone knew if i could apply for a temporary resident permit and if that would work??

Unfortunately you don't qualify to apply for restoration of status

After 90 days, the restoration of status option is lost. This deadline is strict. If more than 90 days have passed, it is usually advisable that a person leave Canada before their overstay is detected where this is a valid option.

yea restoration and TRP (temporary resident permit) isnt the same thing.
but if my boyfriend sponsors me, that would work right?
we were planning on getting married anyways.

That could work but you have to look for ARC in case you are planning to apply PR outland

From what I understand, a TRP is not applicable to this situation. There is no way to restore your temporary resident status inside Canada at this point.
