Travelling through the US

Hi Folks,
Sorry about this topic. I know this not the right forum.
I'm travelling to Europe through Detroit and I have to wait 8 hours before boarding my next flight.
Will costumes let me go out if want to visit the city. I have a valid US visa.

I don't know about the US but I always left the airport when
I booked transit flights. Make sure you allow yourself enough time as you'll
have to go thru passport checks.
