Hi, I am in a muddy situation. Our application has been approved and we also got PPR. But unfortunately our passport was returned in May due to incorrect photo size by IRCC New Delhi and then offices closed dues to COVID. Now we have resubmitted again and they are taking a lot of time to process them. In case something unfortunate happens again this time I am planning to travel to India. As the decision as already been made and we have recieved PPR would it effect our application if I stay in India for an extended period of time. Like 4-5 months? I will be still renting an apartment here in Canada and will have a remote a job that I can do from India.

As a PR yourself, you cannot leave Canada for extended time during PR processing for 4-5 months. You can leave for 2-3 weeks but definitely not 4-5 months, It doesn't matter if your application is approved and got PPR. You cannot leave Canada until your spouse lands as PR. If you do go ahead and stayed outside Canada, you are jeopardizing your PR application and putting it at risk of being denied once IRCC finds out you have been outside Canada for too long.
