Hello all,

My husband and I are in the PR processing outside Canada (Family Class; Spouse). We have just sent them out from Sydney, Australia and now the CPC-M has just received it. My understanding is we can check e-CAS online by using the # on IMM 5401 where we have already paid for the fee. We assume that the sponsorship part will be approved by 30-50 days from now. Thus, would you please tell me if we have to register CAIPS note? I tried to search from the old threads, but it says family class supporting parents only, so I am unsure if we have to register this or not, and which purpose should pepole use CAIPS note for?

Anyhow, we have submitted all proofs such as police clerance, med exam, fee, everything is combiled/submitted at first place. We are being away for 2 months vacation, including business trip for 2 weeks between July and August. I am afraid that CPC-M and Visa processing office in Sydney may contact us if there is any requests of additional documents during our vacation, I would like to ask you if it is wise to leave during those period of times? Should we wait until we receive AOR/passport request firstly before we take vacation? The thing is we will be on business meetings first then we will go on vacation during those meetings.

In case if we go on vacation, and miss their communication, is there any ways/time limits by submitting those documents in the later dates once we come back?
I read the old threads saying that normally CPC-M/Visa processing office (any location) give applicants' timelines for 1 month from the date they issue the letter if requested any additional papers/proofs, is it true? If it is, in case if we missed it, how could we provide/explain about our situation to supply/submit what they request for once we come back here? Are there the experienced here?

I highly appreciate your help.

You can check Ecas fromany computer and if they request something it will likely be mailed is there anyone who can check your mail and if something comes from them they can advise you.Other than that you aor will come by mail of course and all it will tell you is that you the sponsor is approved and it is sent to the visa office,so i would strongly have someone checking your mail as if they do request something it will likely come in the form of post,or email so keep an eye on the computer and post.
Other than that.good luck

Thank you, iarblue :)

5.28. Applicants who leave Canada before a final decision is taken on their application for
permanent residence
An applicant’s departure from Canada after the application is stamped as received or after
assessment of eligibility for membership in the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class
may affect their ability to become a permanent resident.
A foreign national becomes a permanent resident, if following an examination, it is established
that they meet the selection criteria and other requirements applicable to that class as per
R72(1)(d).
Foreign nationals are not provided with any guarantees that they will be allowed to return to or reenter
Canada. If they are unable to do so, their application for permanent residence may be
refused because they are not cohabiting with their spouse or common-law partner at the time the
case is finalized [R72(1)(d) and R124(a)].
It may therefore be appropriate to counsel applicants who are outside Canada to withdraw their
spouse or common-law partner in Canada class application and submit a new application for a
permanent resident visa to the CPC-Mississauga (CPC-M).

So as you can see this is only for inland apps .

Thanks for your info, iarblue. My PR app will be in Sydney, Australia (outland) :)
