Hello everyone!
I am getting my application almost ready and I plan on sending it before February ends. My partner is my sponsor as a common law.
I have a question (and I would like to know if someone has passed for the same experience), my boyfriend, me and two more friends are planning to travel for a week to DR. Right now in Canada I am an International Student, my last semester would be this summer, but I might change it to Fall, because of courses availability. Now, my question is, if I sent my application let's say next week, and we go for the week trip on april, and I dont register on my last semester (summer), will my application be affected? Can they refused me to get into Canada again?. I have a active student visa that would expired next year.

Thank you!

Are you saying your student visa will be in default? Or are you just being irrationally paranoid? For those questions you might get a better answer on the international student section of the forum.

Are you applying outland or inland? It would only affect your PR application if you applied inland and were refused entry.

If your student visa is still valid when you re-enter after your trip then you're fine. Your PR application is only effected if they deny you entry into Canada.

That would mean that the chances of being refused to enter, are less because I have a status in Canada? I am just scared of leaving the country and then having trouble to get in again.

I am applying inland, I am scared of my Student status is not enough to get into the country again. I mean, I have one more semester, and my visa is active, but what makes me a bit scared is that I will not be register on summer, so technically I will not be being part of the College that period.

A student visa is enough for re-entry as long as it is still valid. You should be fine. Lots of my friends from uni traveled on holidays and they were allowed re-entry without a problem.

If you're full time in school, registered and making progress, don't have run-ins with the law, not involved in prohibited work activities, were not involved in human rights violations or other activities that can make you non-eligible to enter then there are really no grounds to deny you entry in the middle of your school program.

You wont have any trouble as long as your student visa is still valid. You can come and go as many time as you like. Just bring the paper with you because they need to know you have a valid status, it should be stapled inside your passport.
