Hello my husband is sponsoring me under family class for a permanent resident card here in Canada. I am from the U.S. by the way. I have just recieved my application number. I would like to know if I can travel with my husband on a buisness trip! Am I allowed to leave canada if I show them my application number? I will be traveling by airplane. Please let me know!

if you applied outland, then there is no issue with traveling. if you applied inland, the risk is being denied re-entry to canada. generally this risk is low for visa exempt applicants. when you show up at the border, tell them you have a PR app submitted, and they will check their system to confirm. once they are able to confirm the app, they will let you in. make sure to bring any proof of your application (Sponsor eligibility letter, fees paid, etc).

remember, until you get your pr, you are only "visiting", you are not "moving" there. it will also be helpful to show proof if you are still working for a us employer.
