Traveling to USA

Hi there. I am a permanent resident in Canada and want to travel to USA for vacation. In order to do so, I must apply for US Visa on the us website and get a travel document. Is there something else I need to do in order to visit USA and be able to come back to Canada? I am traveling by bus

If you have a valid PR card, you don't need to get a travel document to get back to Canada.

So, if I apply for Visa, get it I will be able just simply cross the border with it? What if I am returning to Canada then PR card will be just enough? Did I understand you correctly?

Yes, get a visa to enter the states and use your PR card to return Canada.
