Traveling to Canada while waiting for PR

Hi,

I am a Canadian citizen by birth. My husband and I applied outland last September. We currently live in Seoul, but he is from Cameroon. My contract for teaching is up next month and our original plan was to travel until we get the visa and then go to Canada. It turns out that I'm going to have to make a quick trip to Vancouver next month to transport my dog home, and then fly back to Asia.

Is it possible for him to get a tourist visa and wait out immigration in Canada? Or does he have to wait outside of Canada for the application to be processed?

If you have applied outland than your husband may be able to visit with you. Since he is from Cameroon he will have to apply for a visitor visa prior to visiting Canada.

...and yes if he has legal status in Canada he can remain in Canada until a decision has been made.
