Question about travel: I’m a US citizen who submitted for my first PR card under Quebec Skilled Workers (Programme de l’experience quebecoise) on April 25th; if the processing times are correct, I should hear back by June 12th.

If I wanted to go to Quebec before my application is processed, would that pose a problem? Just as a visitor.

Have you already been approved for PR? Or have you just recently submitted your PR application?

And yes, you can come as a visitor.

I just submitted my application (first PR card) on April 25th. Status still says “Submitted.” I know I’ll have to go to Canada anyway to receive the card at some point, but was planning a vacation in Montreal earlier/visiting some friends.

I wasn’t sure because you have to list all your trips in the last 10 years and this would be after I already submitted my application. I’m guessing it should be ok but just wanted to see if anyone else had some insight.

Also, if I’m hypothetically in Canada when my PR card is processed, would I have to go back to the US and re-enter in order to pick up the card? How would that work

What you are saying is confusing. You don't apply for the first PR card yourself. It is automatically issued to you once you are approved for PR. Make sure you have applied for the right thing.

I can't answer that because what you are saying doesn't quite make sense.

Sorry, I meant that I’ve
- Applied for PR under QWSP (PEQ path)
- Am waiting for them to issue the card

Since I know that I have to come to Canada to receive the card (IRCC doesn’t send the card to intl addresses), if I’m hypothetically already in Montreal, would I have to recross the border to re-enter in order to receive it? Thanks

You are already a PR if your application was already approved and you are just waiting for the PR card. The PR card will be delivered to the Canadian address you specified.
