I made a soft landing in May 2022 and intend to relocate to Canada in June 2023. Do I need to face any questions about the gap from the immigration authorities?

If your gap is that short, ~1 year, no, shouldn't be any issues. They may still ask questions, just answer them truthfully, you've no issues.
