Traveling to another country before landing to canada

Hey everyone,

I have an quick question.
We got Canada PR visa stamped on our passports in Aug 2018 and we are planning to move to Canada on March 2019.
And husband, baby and myself planning to visit Saudi Arabia for 10 days before landing to Canada. we have to submit our passports to the Saudi embassy to get saudi visa stamped on passports. So my concern is, is it okay to travel to another country before landing to Canada? Any risk on giving away the passports to the embassy? Anyone who have done this?

Please help out on this guys.
