Travel from Canada with PRTD

The question is.
Is it possible to travel around the world with PRTD ?
Does the PRTD works in the same way as RTD?

A PRTD is applied for and issued outside of Canada to a PR permanent resident, who does not currently have a valid PR card and allows them together with a valid passport to board a plane to travel back to Canada. So it is not same as an RTD - refugee travel document.
