Travel Document Processing Times in Egypt

I am a PR who have been living in Canada for the past two years. My PR card will expire in October 2016. I am now in the process of renewing them. Due to family reasons, I will have to travel to Egypt sometime during the next two months (not sure about the exact date yet). I will have to stay there for about 8 days. Most probably, by the time I go to Egypt my current PR card will be expired and the new one will not be ready yet.

I checked the CIC website and found that I can apply for a Travel Document (PRTD) once I arrive Egypt. My concern is that I might not get it by the time I leave after 8 days.
I checked this forum and found that the processing times may vary from one immigration office to another. Can anyone confirm the processing times for the issuing a PRTD in the Canadian Embassy in Egypt? Also, are there any another options I have for my situation?

I was in the same boat this summer, my PR expired August 2015.
I have been told never leave Canada without your PR.
I had my travel tickets on june 2016 I cancelled them coz I didn't get my PR yet.
