I am soon to receive my visa on a Single Travel Journey Document, which is a letter with your photo and Visa counterfoil on a paper issued to Stateless persons or anyone who is unable to obtain a passport as well as countries which their passport are not recognized.

As I am a Somali citizen the Somali passport is banned for entry to Canada so they will give me that letter.

Upon entry i will fill the form for the Permenant resident card and will expect to receive it in 36 calendar days.

My plan is to come back to my home country and stay there a year therefore, Which one do you think i qualify for? I highly prefer the travel document as the Canadian Certificate of Identity is invalid for travel for Europe and many Middle Eastern countries.

According to Passport Canada here are the definitions:

Travel document (United Nations Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees, 1951 and its Protocol of 1967): issued to persons in
Canada with protected person status, including Convention refugees and persons in need of protection.

Certificate of identity: issued to permanent residents of Canada who are not yet Canadian citizens, who are stateless, or who are
unable to obtain a national passport.

Moreover how long am i allowed to be away from Canada on permanent Visa is there a time limitation??
