Hi All,

I have been issued my COPR and electronic foil and will be travelling to Canada in 2 days time. However, a week afterwards, I have flights booked to the US for 10 days, after which I will be returning to Canada with no travel outside of Canada booked following onward. My concern is around the PR process during my initial arrival to Canada, and how this might impact my travel to the US.

Is the only way to travel to Canada with PR status but no PR card, to have the PRTD? Can the immigration process not be delayed (so I travel with my existing passport/visas), until I arrive back into Canada?

Thanks

Hi

When you enter Canada in 2 days, you can explain the situation and ask CBSA if you can delay your landing until you return from the US. Others have done this without issue.

If you do land in 2 days, you can enter Canada at a land border without a PR card or PRTD.

OK brilliant, thanks. Have done some further research which also indicates the landing process can be delayed, so fingers crossed!
