Hello Friends,
I am citizen of Canada and also national of another country that does not allow dual citizenship and I cannot make my Canadian passport for fear. I need to travel to Canada but do not have Canadian passport to do so. I have my citizenship card only.
My question is: Can i travel with my citizenship card and other country passport ? Will i be allowed to enter Canada with just my citizenship card and another country passport?
Please help. Thanks in advance.
Regards....

What nationality are you intending to travel under? It will make a difference to the answer. Is that nationality visa-exempt for Canada?

You should also tell us whether you are planning on flying or coming from the US by car. The airlines also have tavel document requirements and might not let you board the plane if you don't meet them.

My feeling is that IF they let the OP onto the aircraft with the documentation that he has, and of course this is down to the discretion of the particular airline, the OP will be granted entry after passing through Secondary Inspection in Canada.

I am from Zambia, an African country. I will use airlines like KLM or Swissair.I may have to go through second country e.g. obtain Amsterdam tourist visa and board plane from there using my Zambian passport and Canadian citizenship card.Thnx

I think you are correct. You will need to be able to prove that you have a visa for the next country on your travel, or they may refuse to allow you to board the plane in Zambia. (I have done some research :) )

Once in another country, you are not restricted by Zambian exit controls and you may find it a lot easier.

Are you going to Canada to live permanently now? If so, in your position, I would gain a Canadian passport while in Canada and renounce Zambian citizenship.
