Translation required - can't quite figure it out, please help!

Hi there,

I am trying to determine what needs translation and how for a visitor's application from Nicaragua to visit Canada.

If someone could please help confirm what documents require translation from a certified translator?

e.g., divorce paper? Letter from work?

If the translator isn't certified, it seems like they still have to go to a notary to produce an affidavit swearing their translation is correct?

If I am looking for a certified translator, how do I know who is an acceptable translator? For example, there is a translation service at the university in Nicaragua, but will Canada accept?

Many thanks for your help!

The instructions are rather clear: ALL documentation should be in English.

No. The translator has to be certified.

As long as the translation service is certified then yes.

It is quite simple, look for "traducciones legales" in google for Nicaragua.

Second hit in google:

Thanks Jalex! Was just trying to reduce costs if possible as I had seen a few different explanations, but we will go for certified translation of all supporting docs.
