Transit Visa ordeal (Canada does not stop surprising me)

Hi guys,

This is my third post and 100th woe about transit visa for canada.

My first question is: DO we need two transit visas for our round trip?

I assumed the answer to this question as yes and applied for two transit visas for to and fro trip to India from US (via canada). This is the event log:

- I applied for transit visa for US to India trip on March 10 and still no update
- I applied for transit visa for India to US trip on March 17 and on April 5 I received update that my visa is refused because a document (which they never mention of website) is missing. This application is 'refused' and status is 'closed' on the cic website.
- I again applied for transit visa for my India to US trip on April 7 along with the document that was missing. Today I received this message -

According to our records, you already have a transit visa application is progress. Consequently, our office is unable to process your second application for a transit visa.


Now which visa is under process????? one is rejected and other is for another trip. What is this supposed to mean?????? I have my trip coming up in 15 days and I dont have any transit visa. No information about this on website and sitting in US i cant even call canadian embassy for visa questions. I have written them email but my past experience with these canadian embassies in US is bad. They write very short and unclear answers.

Please guide me guys!

I hate surprises. So (if I were in this situation) I would rather cancel the flights and travel to India (without transit Canada). Btw, why don't you initiate your PR status upon arrival at the Canadian airport and on returning, get a travel document from the Canadian embassy in India?

Wrong decision. You can't have two active requests for the same document.

- I applied for transit visa for India to US trip on March 17 and on April 5 I received update that my visa is refused because a document (which they never mention of website) is missing. This application is 'refused' and status is 'closed' on the cic website.

Very unlikely, all documents are listed and quite clear in the website.

Now which visa is under process????? one is rejected and other is for another trip. What is this supposed to mean??????
