Hi,
My parents are in the US for my dads cancer treatment. Unknowingly I booked their return tickets to Mumbai with a layover in Toronto. I had no idea that they need a Canadian transit visa.
I applied online transit visa for them...but it was rejected. Their only issue was that I had not uploaded their US visas and date of entry. I have applied again and except to get asked for their passport for stamping. It took embassy about 4 days to reply my first application.

My question is can they drop off the passport at the VAC center in New York in person or should they courier it...they are staying in New Jersey. Also what else do they need to drop off along with it. The fees for transit visa is zero , is there any check i need to send.? Also would there be different envelopes for my mom and dad or single one..?
Is it possible for them to pick it up in person or it has to be send in courier..? My parents are in the US for 15 more days...Would the procedure be done by then..?
Please answer my questions...it is very expensive to change their tickets..

Your parents haven't received passport requests yet. IMO, they are cutting it too close. CSC/VAC states a passport transmission time of between 10-15 days after passports are submitted.

It might be a good idea to re-book their tickets asap by avoiding transiting through Canada
