Hello!

I'm a 19 year old Transgender (Female to Male) individual hoping to study at Lambton College in Sarnia, Ontario. I know in order to get a study permit and study in Canada you have to have good health. I already completed my gender reassignment surgery and only need once weekly inject-able medicine (testosterone). I tried finding a way to contact IRCC but have had no luck. Is it possible to study in Canada with taking testosterone? also Sarnia is close to Michigan in the US so if needed I could cross the boarder to get my hormone treatment (if that is possible). Do any other trans people have experience with studying in Canada? Could anyone lead me to resources where I can get my questions answerd?

Thank you and hope your having a great day!

That's more of a permanent residency thing.

Medical exams for visitors, students and workers - Canada.ca

Some countries are on the list, but the general rule is that they are looking for Tuberculosis, so the places they care about have Tuberculosis, and the exams involve looking for Tuberculosis.

Is it possible to study in Canada with taking testosterone?
Certainly. Your study permit doesn't depend on the medication you take. That won't be the hard part.

The hard part for you would likely be Ontario healthcare. Students in Ontario, unlike some other provinces, are not eligible for provincial healthcare. Private healthcare is certainly a thing, and the school may have a plan. You should look up the specifics if you can.

More practically, you may run into issues finding a family doctor or getting a referral to a specialist. My allergist appointment and family doctor in London, ON took 4 years. Generally, for things that are "abusable", walk-in clinics won't prescribe them. That includes pain relievers and ADHD medication. I've never tried to do Testosterone, but I'd imagine it's in the same kind of situation.

Sarnia is close to Michigan in the US so if needed I could cross the boarder to get my hormone treatment (if that is possible).
Legally, that is absolutely doable. Pragmatically, it's not at the moment. Crossing the border requires a 14 day quarantine, and a pre-entry PCR test.
