In my case…..
I have not received any confirmation thru email nor mail from LA that they have received my file transfer from buffalo. All I got was an email from buffalo informing me that my file got transferred from buffalo to LA. I did not bother to email them (LA) since in the email it say there that we have to wait after 90 days from the time LA received our file before we make any status inquiry…..do you think we have to email LA?

Anyone else have that experience?

Hello. I emailed them to Buffalo months after medicine was done and they answered they have my medicine. Also they said to not pay attention to ecas because it has an old information.

Regarding second question I don't now the answer

I submitted Police clearance since...August 2010. They didnt ask any update or new clearance. So i don't know for sure how it works.

Smile whisper…thank you for your reply…I just want to understand it clearly…you said you submitted your police and FBI clearance last august 2010 together with your initial application….are you saying until the time your file was transferred and you got your PPR request, they did not ask you for a new clearance?....am I correct? Do you mind to show your time line?

Since the email says to not inquire the status within 90 days I don't think sending them an email will make any positive effect

I will not email them until the 90 days has passed and hopefully I will have heard from them before then. Just want to really know how long we have to get passports to them...can't find info anywhere. Thanks.

No, they didnt ask for a new clearance.

Submitted AiNP Approval/other required doc. : August 2010
Med done : later March 2011
File was transfered : June 14,2011
LA confirmation receiving my file: July 5,2011
Request Passport/RPRF/Photos: August 30,2011
Mailed Passport : September 1,2011
Received passport : September 19,2011
Landed at the border : September 19,2011

Sorry for repeating the question.

smilewhisper said LA sends a confirmation they receive the a file. However, I've been waiting for 1 29 days and haven't received any confirmation from them?

Does they always sand the confirmation for receiving a file or they can skip it?

SMILEWHIPSER…thanks for the reply
We actually have more or less same time frame and I also submitted my police clearance last August, 2010 which am sure was already expired by this time. MY file got transferred last Sept 22, 2001. Do you think I don’t have to get new clearances? I was thinking of requesting new clearance as of this time just to get ready whenever they ask for one…but do you think I have to? I just don’t want another waiting time if ever they will ask for new ones…but it looks like in your case they did not ask for it? What are your thoughts? By the way, did you email LA to follow up on your status? Was there any change in ECAS when your file was transferred? Thank you very much.

HOw did LA confirmed your file? Was it different email sent by buffalo informing your that your file was transferred to LA? or they confirmed they have your file because you sent them an email?

Are here members who got a passport request without LA's confirmation regarding receiving the file?

I mean was there cases when LA skipped emailing a confirmation?

My file was also transferred to LA on Sept 8th 2011. When I look at eCas it is still showing 'application received'. Did medicals on April 28th. No notification that medicals have been received. Still showing old address although I emailed change of address to Buffalo (and now also to LA). Seems like online info is not up to date. Anyone else have that experience?

MY QUESTION IS: WHEN THEY ASK FOR YOUR PASSPORTS HOW MUCH TIME DO THEY GIVE FOR YOU TO SEND THEM TO THE CONSULATE OFFICE. I AM DUE TO TRAVEL QUITE A BIT OVERSEAS FOR WORK SOON AND WOULD BE GRATEFUL TO KNOW FROM PEOPLE EXACTLY WHAT THE LETTERS SAID AND HOW MUCH TIME WAS ALLOWED.

Thanks so much in anticipation.
60 days.
Quote the email:

tyler_sam, I am not in US, so I only gave buffalo no criminal record from my country, later they emailed me to submit a Certified Criminal Record Check (from RCMP) for further check cuz someone criminal has the same name as mine.

What visa(s) they are talking about? One they is going to put in you passport or one that you already have in you passport?
