My mother-in-law, sister-in-law and their relative (no blood relation) applied for tourist visa to visit us here in Canada. All three applications got refused and they have received the passports back.
  • Sister-in-law unmarried and doing government job in India,
  • Mother-in-law retired.
  • Relative is married and doing job in India.
  • Relative has a US travel Visa refused last year.
  • All of them have traveled to Singapore.
  • All travel history, bank statements, house ownership etc were attached.
  • We sent notarized invitation letter from Canada, with all required information such as income tax info etc.
Reason for rejection as per the visa office:
  • No satisfactory sponsorship documents
  • Travel History
Questions to the members:
  • Could this be because of the travel history of relative? or for his sponsorship by us as he does not have a blood relation to my in-laws?
  • We are disappointed because we were at least expecting the visa for my mother-in-law. Do they eiher give visa to all or none?
  • Can we reapply now or wait, or can be appeal?

Hello Pankaj,

You may re-apply for your mother in law and sister in law. Make sure to attach more documents from the Sponsor i.e. Their property docs, bank statements, Any investments etc.
Sometimes strong documents from the sponsors help. Specially in your case as they have given that reason to you.

Seems your invitation does not meet requirements see here https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio.../services/visit-canada/letter-invitation.html

Travel history means they have not shown a history of going to Visa required western countries and then going back home, also because they are unemployed/retired I think its going to be tough. You can also get caips notes for more clarity, search the forums.

Thanks bongoman, My invitation letter was inline with the requirements + it was notarized too.

I also want to mention, we have applied for PR Application for my mother-in-law under PGP-2018. We did mention this in the visitor visa application along with the details of the application.

You would need to reapply.

How long a trip did they request?

Get the notes than because they say your invitation is not proper so maybe it will be explained in the notes.
Dont think they would refuse everyone because of relative issues, you can reapply now but without the notes how are you going to correct your application?

They requested a trip for one month to visit us here in Canada.
