Hello,

I have a question about the tourist visa. I have been in canada with a work&travel visa until end of august 2012. Now (end of october 2012) I want to go back to visit my girlfriend for 2 months. For this I probably need a tourist visa. Is that nessessary or can I enter canada for 3 months without a visa. Other than that I found out that I am only allowed to come to canada for 3 month every 6 month. Is that true?
I am from Germany.

Your help is very much appreciated.

Sincerely,

Florian Mandsfeld

Usually Canada will let you stay 6 months as you are from visa exempt country. The system is different from EU, which only allows 3 months out of 6 months without visa. Having said that if you travel too often, it might trigger suspicion. Make sure you have a proof of sufficient fund and strong ties to your home country. Otherwise, I think you should be fine.

thank you very much.
so that means i dont have to apply or something for a tourist visa? since i am from germany i just need a flight back to germany to show, funds to cover my stay. is that right?

thank you

Florian

That is correct. But not just the fund, I would buy return tickets to show that you are returning to Germany and other proof to tie to your home country, to be safe.
