Tourist Visa for my boy

hi! I am planning to stay in Canada for 1 year to qualify for common law sponsorship. After 1 year, my partner will file for common law for me and sponsor my son as well.

My question is, will it be wise for me to get a TRV for my son as well so he can visit me while waiting for the approved sponsorship? He is turning 18 next year and will be 19 years old by the time I complete the 1-year pre-requisite stay for common law sponsorship.

He can apply but without strong ties to his country, his chances of approval are low.
