hello guys, tomorrow its my medical appointment at Lahore, Pakistan, so I want to know what type of tests they will do?
and after test are they going to give me some sort of confirmation letter that ive done the test?
thanks

You can expect a general complete physical, plus HIV and syphilis tests, urianalysis test, creatinine tests for hypertension, diabetes and other diseases, chest x-ray exams, there may be a couple of clinical history and mental tests as well, and whatever else the Designated medical examiner determines at the time.

The examiner will provide you with a copy of IMM 1017 Medical Report, section A to be included in your application package.

You should supply the DME with a number of photographs of yourself and accompanying applicants, the number of photos and size should be given to you by the DME.

For us, it consisted of testing our blood (one needle), blood pressure, eyes, and a chest x ray. Not many questions about past medical history, just your basics. All went quick, but a bit of waiting between tests. Luckily for us, there was a complimentary and coffee snack bar to tide us over.

In the end, they had us wait until the results of the chest x ray were back, which were good but the blood test itself will take 2 weeks to process, and you will not get the results for this, as it's passed on to CIC, so this does leave a little 'what if' worrying in the back of your mind, but for us we know we are Ok, as we got a complete blood test workup when we had our child.

it's a routine physical exam, plus blood/urine tests as the above mentioned. chest xray to rule out TB. you will only get a copy of the form to put in with your package. You won't hear of your results. You will just have to wait for your VO to contact you regarding a passport request when the time comes. good luck and be patient, it takes awhile! (you can't be denied into Canada based on your medicals though, so don't worry....even if you have medical problems, they can't deny you as you're applying as a spouse.) =)
