Hi Everyone,

Appreciate if someone could help me with the following.

Background
  • My wife and I received our COPRs in Sept' 2017.
  • We currently live in London, UK where I'm employed (on an intra-company transfer visa)
  • We made our landing (Toronto) in Nov' 2017 and spent 10 days in Canada before flying back to London, UK.
  • We have received our SIN as well as our PR cards however, we do not have a Canadian bank account, have not earned any income in Canada as yet and do not have a residential address in Canada
  • We have earnings of approximately CAD 40,000/ from Sept' to Dec' 2017 (income earned in UK; converted from GBP to CAD) and have paid taxes on these in UK. I understand that Canada and the UK have a double-taxation treaty.
Questions
  • Do we need to pay any taxes for the year 2017?
  • Do we need to file any returns? For instance, is there a form that we need to submit indicating all of the above?
Any help on the above would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks
