To extend my stay as a visitor, the reason for coming to canada?

Hi,
I'm a visitor who applied for out side canada family class in June. Since I came to Canada without visa in May and still waiting, I have to extend my stay as visitor soon. Then I wonder what I should write in "my original reason for coming to Canada" and "my request"? Is it too simple if i wrote "I came to Canada as a visitor to prepare an application for permanent residence with my spouse" for the reason? How did you answer those?

Preparing the PR application wasn't the reason you came, since you could have done that from outside.

Your request is that you want to continue visiting your spouse, while you wait for your PR application to be finalised.
