From my experiance with politics and legislation, it will be a few months before any (if any) changes are made

They will just tweak the system, majority on the back end. I don't think these changes will affect the overall system more than 2~3%.
Canada is not a third world country where every new government changes all the policies and projects from previous government at once while claiming they are hurting nation interest.
