Impatiently waiting for PPR since Tuesday. But nothing comes.Decision Made but when I click it to see more details it shows medical Instructions only. Why they are not updating so as to make us sure that our PR is approved? CIC is taking very tough exam of our patience. Any way good luck to all of us.

My wife's flight ticket to Toronto is booked for December 04.So now if PPR comes it may not be advisable for us to send passport for stamping. And I have heard that Canada Post is on strike. What will happen?

We landed as immigrant on Oct 21st and when we landed the system at the immigration counter was not working. Accordingly, nothing got entered into their system but they signed a copy of the confirmation of permanent residence with the date of entry. It's almost a month now and we have not received our PR card though they had indicated it will take around 5-6 weeks. So the question is whether we should wait for getting our PR card to leave this place or should we wait for the PR Card? If we leave without the PR Card since I don't have that kind of leave accumulated for me to stay put in Canada and after our departure, if there is any issue regarding issue of PR card, how we can come back here? Appreciate experts to respond to this query. Regards

Still in process..
Anyone has file in Delhi office? Do you know how much time they take once the status is in process to ask for medical?

Our file was processed by Delhi office and it took not more than 18 months from the time the file reached there & they sent us the visa for landing.

I applied for my MIL's PR last year. Got invitation to apply in the second round :
Application received : OCt 11, 2017
Started Processing: July 16, 2018
Medical Request: July 17, 2018
Medical Passed: August 2018
***********************************
Ecas : Decision Made
CIC Online : received pre arrival letter and status is "background process started"

Then on November 5, 2018 they sent an email saying to make final decision you have been selected for interview in Edmonton (as we live in Edmonton and my MIL is on supervisa)
Yesterday, then received email from New Delhi Office to submit passport for finalize the application.

My MIL is currently in India and will be back next month.
So we are not sure, whether to send passport to New Delhi (as she is in India) or attend the interview here in Edmonton (she will be back before the interview)
Please advise....

I would advise you that she attends interview in Edmonton rather than sending the passport to New Delhi since the processing time at Edmonton will be much faster than India.

Dear Yulia
I have read several of your replies in the past to other enquiries. Thanks for replying.
Your suggestion to send it to Ottawa is fine but that would mean sending the passports from the US. Surely that would flag as a problem somewhere. I can't imagine the Americans wouldnt scrutinise and put up obstacles. Can passports even be sent abroad?
Wouldn't it be better to some how get the file transferred from new Delhi to Washington I presume and then it's a within America scenario for sending the passports?

But then how would I get the file transferred,. New Delhi is aware they are living in usa.

Similar situation had happened in our case when they requested us to have the passport sent across to Delhi office when we are living in Muscat, Oman. The VFS office in Oman didn't take the responsibilities to have our passports sent across to Delhi but they agreed to send it across to Abu Dhabi Canadian Embassy. So I sent across an email to delhi-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca requesting them to have the file transferred to Abu Dhabi which they did within a matter of 10 days with a copy to me through email. May be you can try requesting them to have the file transferred to Washington rather than sending the passports to India or Ottwa.

PR card normally takes 45 business days that means atleast 2 months so Oct 21 to Dec 21 will be 2 months around that time you should get it but with holidays coming and Canada post on strike this can take longer than posted times. Leaving without PR card is possible but is not recommended and you should wait until you get your PR card before leaving.
