Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

Hi everyone,

I also applied to sponsor my mom since 2016 and just got an email from IRCC requesting her to undergo a medical exam.

Looking at the thread's timeline sheet, I always saw IME/PCC together so I thought the medical exam and PCC are supposed to be requested together. However, for my mom's case, I only got medical exam request but haven't received anything about Police Certificate Check. Could you tell me if this is normal or if IRCC sends PCC request sometime after they receive IME?

Depends on VO but yes, this is normal to get IME without PCC.

My friends parents got their visa yesterday from NDVO. They got pre-arrival end of Feb and then nothing.

My friend had sent an inquiry to them in beginning Feb which they replied in April saying they issued PPR in first week of March attaching the request. It was sent to wrong email address but they used the same PPR notice and were able to get the visa.

Does anyone know if the PGP has funds requirement for landing?

Hi everyone
I need your help. My parents got passports request from ottawa office 3 weeks ago. Since it was complicated to find a prepaid envelope from the US ( where they reside) i asked them to send their passports to my address in canada so i take care of the prepaid envelope and send it to Ottawa on their behalf. It’s been a week that passports are being held in canadian borders and the deadline for CIC is friday thos week. Anyone been in similar situation or know how to get passports back ?Thank you

PGP does not require any funds.

Got the Medical request for my parents on May 4th. Only Medical like all others. Jan 5th batch well some progress after a long wait.

My uncle's application has been just updated with "In Progress" status today. I can see an additional line saying that "We started processing XXXX's application on May 10, 2018". We are from Jan 4, 2017 9:43 am Purolator batch. Not sure what we will be receiving "medical request" or "additional documents request" for this status change? Visa office is CPC-O.

received my parents medical request last week...they did their medicals today...

Question...anyone have any idea on how long it generally takes for CIC to send police clearance check and/or ask for the fee, if they requested only for medicals? Anyone who received medical requests separately...and later received request for PC check or asked for fee?

Re-medical request came today after a long wait. Timelines
Jan 4th,2016 - Courier status - received.
June 30th, 2016 - Sponsorship Approved and File transferred to NewDelhi VO (Regular mail)
Dad Passed away suddenly (Primary Applicant)
August 2, 2016 - Email received saying File is transferred to CPC-Ottawa
February 13, 2017 - Medical and PCC request
Consulted with experts here and completed medical and pcc here in Toronto (My mom is with me on Super visa)
February 27, 2017 - Submitted PCC and Medical for my mom
February 27, 2017 - RPRF paid for my mom
March 1, 2017 - Submitted my Dad's death certificate and request letter to make my Mom as primary applicant
March 27, 2017 - CIC sent another communication and acknowledged the submission and asked IMM008 and new agreement forms
April 1 , 2017 - New IMM008 is submitted
April 5, 2017 - ecas changed as application received for my Mom
Nov 10, 2017 - Asked case notes and learnt a new file number created and new application created for my mom
Applied again super visa as passport expired for mother and she came to Canada on Super visa Feb 20, 2018
Hopefully this time the wait will not be more.

Thank you for your detail posting.My timeline is similar to you.My elder daughter sponsered me.Due to recent changes my younger daughter became eligible for addition to our file.My elder daughter through consultant applied for addition of my younger daughter.They allowed us by their letter dt.March07,2018 alongwith PCc and Medical.My daughter completed this both and the consultant submitted all the documents to CPC,Missisauga on March26,2018.They approved sponsorship of my daughter and included her into our file on April18,2018.Since then waiting for that golden day of Passport Request.GOD bless us all.
