DV_27 name is in Excel for timeline.
Sorry typo: It's D-V27.
Email came from DelhiImmigration, probably because background check will happen there I guess.
So far Background check is "Not Started".
The documents still have "Provided" status, once it change to "Received" (They verified documents are correct one), then it will change to in Process, again it's what I think.

I have a new born in my family and informed CIC about via online and attached the birth certificate. CIC came back and asking for these information.

When you have a sponsorship application in process, a family member of the person being sponsored could be added at a later date, even if they were listed as a non-accompanying dependant in the initial application.

To do so, we invite you to complete the following forms and mail them to the Case Processing Centre (CPC) in Mississauga, Ontario. If the newly created family member is a child born in Canada, only the add-on request is required:

A new Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking form (IMM 1344) completed by the sponsor,
(If the application is still at the CPC in Mississauga) A new Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008) with supporting documents,
(If you are adding a dependent child of a dependent child) A Financial Evaluation form (IMM 1283) with supporting documents,

And

The add-on request including:
your name,
your client ID number/UCI,
your file number,
a detailed letter of explanation,
a copy of the birth certificate, marriage certificate or proof of common-law relationship, and
if applicable, the proof of payment.

Useful tips

Please ensure to write ADD-ON on the forms and on the envelope.
If you would like proof that your application was received, we suggest that you use registered mail with Canada Post or a courier service such as Purolator, UPS, FedEx, etc.

I still haven't got the SA yet, app received on Jan 5 10:01 am.

Anyone experienced the same thing.

Thank you! so it seems that the background check for folks might already be underway and the online status 'not started' does not really mean 'no activity'...good to know!

I also notice that you have got your medicals done months ago...Ottawa seems to be taking quite long time for some cases... :'(

So did you have any family member served in military that is making them ask related info?

Based on the SS, a total of 139 2016 apps have been transferred to Ottawa out of which 86 have received IME/PCC/RPRF request. And the average waiting time to get this request from the time the file was transferred is 117 days (Ottawa only). The quickest was 28 days and the longest has been 239 days.

BTW, I updated your entry.
Thanks for the info Rossei and updating the spreadsheet.. you the Man +1

Average is 117 days = 4 months if you go by the SS.

But I believe it will be less than that.

Hi Rossei,

Thank you for the update. However, I have sent the police certificate on September 23,2016 and the medical on September 21, 2016 for my parents and no movement yet. It is more than 103 days...should I be concerned? Please advise. Thanks :)

Even i believe it would be less than the above...the reason is IRCC stopped processing for SA/IME/PCC after ~August 2016, probably because they reached the cap of of 2016 by then for PGP. Hence the max and average time increased. Now if Ottawa starts processing again, i.e. from SA received and file transferred...until IME/PCC requested...this would give us a more current realistic timeline of Ottawa's processing of PGP apps.

Do we know how much time Ottawa gives for applicants to submit IME/PCC once they send an email/mail? 30/60 days?

For my parents, its was 45/30 for IME/PCC. Not sure if this is the norm.

My dad served in military. Also we have a new family member, and we informed CIC, so it might also be the case.

Hi,

This is for my uncle from India. His application was submitted on Jan 4th 9:43 , 2016 am Purolator batch form his daughter. AOR was received in May 2016. After that no update on application. Just today 2/7/17, online status changed to "Decision Made" for SA. Till this time, our lawyer had not received any email but he may in two days or so. Hoping that file may get transfer to Ottawa since the application has only two people on it ;husband and wife (no children). How long it may take from here till issuing a visa approximately? Also, currently they both have super-visa for Canada . Do you think that if they come Canada in next 2 months and change their mailing address from India to Canada, so that the application gets processed faster? Any suggestions on this?

Thanks,
Yogesh
Mailing address has no implication on speed of processing and that is how it should be.
For the most part, once your application gets into a VO, it is handled in chronological order. The differences in processing time between applications is simply due to differences in each application, documents submission time and background check clearances which is usually out of CIC's hands.
