I have access to ECas now. Says application received and lists the dependents.

Do you put your info to see ECAS?

My ECAS still shows my spousal application status that finished processing in last Nov. ::)

Yes, I used my information. I was also sponsored by my spouse last year but landed in May 2015, so I no longer had access to ECas by the time I applied to sponsor my parents. I can also log in using my mum's UCI and her information or the file number. So try to log in with your parents' information.

my ecas activated about two weeks ago, no AOR yet

under my older application statuses, it has a new section, with name of principal applicant and when you click it, it shows dependent spouse name

Thanks for your reply.

But how do I get UCI without AOR? It asks for the identification type at the beginning of ECAS. None of the ID types are applicable at this point.

I haven't checked the Ecas with my client ID, only used my mom's UCI, it says application received. No AOR yet.

You can use your own UCI .

I just checked my online status using my UCI and it was activated; I checked it last week and was not successful so I believe it got activated yesterday or just today.

Application sent through Metro Mississauga; received by CIC by 8:45 on the 4th. CC charged on Jan 13th and received AOR via email on Feb 2nd.
My username on SS is r_n.

Hi,

Wondering which one is the right way to enter UCI (xxxx-xxxx) or (xxxxxxxx)...or does it not matter.

Thanks

There isn't any right way. You need to try till it works out for you. I've seen it work with and without the hyphen for many people.

For those who are eager to see E-CAS work, this doesn't mean much at the initial stage. At this time for you guys, it will say the same thing for all: "Application Received". It has been seen here that someone's E-CAS gets active very early whereas someone else's doesn't work for a long time. It doesn't mean that your case is not being processed. So, don't lose sleep over it.

Thanks Rossei. You are correct, it does not mean much. Confirmation by either of AOR or ECAS should be enough to satisfy our curiosity at this stage.

Actually, AOR thru email or mail is more significant than E-CAS. AOR mail/email is an official proof from CIC that they accepted your application. Besides, you get your File No with the AOR. Case officers/clerks/co-ops manually enter your info into E-CAS. If any of your info is wrongly input, then your E-CAS may not work until it gets into processing (by an officer). Furthermore, for other type of applications, it has also been seen that one may also lose access to E-CAS temporarily during processing.

Hence, it's not always reliable.

Thanks, Rossie. But how to explain there is Ecas but no AOR
receiced so far? Quite a few people in this situation.

How do you know your or your parents' UCI? I thought those were shown in AOR only, but it seems many are checking ecas before getting AOR. I guess I'm missing something. My card got charged on Jan 17th, but no AOR yet.

your UCi number is on your PR card or citizenship certificate

My mom applied visa, so she has an UCI.
