Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

Here is my update:

First medical was done on Dec 2016.
Received the re-medical request for my parents on last week of Nov since the previous medical is expiring soon. Also CIC requested for proof of parentage.

My parents completed their medical today and I will be sending the proof of parentage document today.

Visa office: Ottawa

Fingers crossed...

Below was the statement in the request letter:

Submit the copy of the sponsor's either current or expired Indian passport including the page showing parentage.

I used to have access to the 2016 spreadsheet, but now is making me request access (which I have)
Is this a new thing? The file is no longer public?

My Parents got their PR Visa but not the Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) letter... DO they need COPR to complete the landing or are they going to issue that at the airport?

Feb 2, 2016

• Your application has been accepted under the intake cap for 2016

Aug 18, 2016

• We started processing your application

Sep 1, 2016 (From Ottawa)

• Request for Medicals
• Request for PCC
• Right of Permanent Residence Fee

Sep - Dec 2016

• Submitted medicals

June 12, 2017

• Your application has been transferred to the visa office in New Delhi (NDVO)

Dec 8th, 2017 (from NDVO)

• Re-request for Medicals
• Re-request for PCC
• Request for travel history form
• Request for 3 updated photographs

Many of us from NDVO got the PPR request couple of weeks after re-medicals.

As far as I remember, the CORP will be given upon landing. All they need to show is their vizas.

Both my parents and parents in-law was accepted in 05 January 2016. They both got medical request and done in January and February of this year. My parents who did medical January 2017 got the PPR request last week. . But before Ottawa request the passport, they asked us first if my parents can land on 13 January 2018.. Because if not.. we will redo the medical..
